Following our recent exciting collaborations with both Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, and Novartis, and with an expanding small molecule drug discovery portfolio Artios Pharma is recruiting for an experienced Director or VP Investor- Public relations. This is an excellent opportunity to join a world class research team in a dynamic, small Biotech company based south of Cambridge, UK, NYC and Raleigh, North Carolina Artios is focused on identifying and developing cancer treatments by exploiting novel targets within the DNA damage response (DDR), a scientific area of high expectation following the success of PARP inhibitors in the clinic. The company is actively working on an exciting portfolio of unique DNA repair projects.

We started our first clinical study with our small-molecule ATR inhibitor in February 2021.

Outline of the role
The Director/Vice President Investor- Public Relations will work directly with the CFO as well as other company executives to lead and implement Artios’ investor relations and public relations strategy. The position will be responsible for managing external relationships and ensuring consistent communications with the investment and media communities – including current/prospective shareholders, analysts, journalists, and other relevant stakeholders. The role will also be responsible for coordinating key events such as investor related events (i.e. Healthcare Conferences), KOL events, and management roadshows (i.e. non-deal roadshows). The role will also assure that senior management is kept apprised on investor sentiment and will also assure the board/management team has updated information on analysts, competitive news flow, and current shareholders.

Lead Artios’ Investor Relations Strategy and Execution including:

• Investor/analyst engagement and investor targeting: Ensuring current key investors/analysts are updated routinely, tracking key questions/answers via an investor log.
• Work with the CFO to ensure new investor targets are identified
• Investor Presentation: Work with the management team and outside IR/PR firm to ensure corporate deck is reviewed/updated routinely and posted on the Artios website
• Investor Events: Act as point of contact and prepare Artios for all investor related events (healthcare conferences, non deal roadshows, analyst events, scientific events, etc)
• Shareholder Analysis: Develop materials to allow review of competitive news flow, and shareholder sentiment/analysis by the management team and board
• Disclosure Committee: Participate in Artios’ Disclosure Committee meetings to ensure external communications are consistent
• Data Dissemination: Partner with the CEO, CFO, CSO and CMO to ensure clinical data is communicated to the investment community in the most appropriate way. Develop/review and align on a plan with the board to ensure flawless execution.
• Financing Strategy: Partner with the CFO to develop/maintain a corporate financing strategy

Public Relations
• Press Releases: Work with key stakeholders to develop appropriate press releases for distribution to key channels.
• Develop and implement a media engagement strategy. Facilitate media training for the management team and ensure consistent messaging across various media outlets. Draft appropriate Q&A materials.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential
• BA or BS required, MBA or relevant PHD preferred
• Minimum 10 years of experience working in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry including experience in investor and/our public relations, equity research, investment banking, finance or corporate communications
• Exceptional verbal and written communications skills, including impeccable presentation preparation skills, proven ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated personable and energetic communication style with the ability to convey credibility.
• Successful track record of interfacing with the investment community and media
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and the highest level of discretion
• Ability to demonstrate initiative and simultaneously achieve multiple tasks

Desirable
• Useful but not essential, experience of reporting
